inspire trust

An EMEA team created by the merger of two investment banks found themselves focussed on targets with little time to build close working relationships.

An event was designed by Lyn Bicker (above) and Matt Evans using Emotional Intelligence as the tool to help the team explore individual leadership styles and start to  establish and build new, trusting relationships as part of that process.

Key moments

It made the team think about management... ‘managing by example is one thing - managing when invisible is different.’

Critical results

The team formed new bonds and established new levels of trust.

The EI work concentrated on the need to be heard, and the need to listen; and the importance of attitudinal development over skills. A diagnostic revealed team effectiveness; for um theatre sessions with TSOC Partners Central School of Speech and Drama helped people to observe and re-direct behaviour that was not emotionally intelligent; and graphic facilitation visually captured metaphors.
