raise the bar and jump it
A global business wanted to raise the bar on its performance. But managers said they lacked the skills and tools to consistently get the best from their teams.
The business invested in creating a coaching culture. Organisational Coaching enabled groups of managers to experience being coached, and at coaching skills workshops they learned key skills and coaching tools. At individual 1-to-1 follow-up sessions managers practised coaching in real situations with their own staff; feedback helped them refine their new skills.
Key moments
As the coaching moved down the management tree leaders realised their people were less stressed.
Critical results
Establishing a coaching culture helped the company raise the bar of business performance, and jump it.
The managers now had a set of consistent, pragmat ic coaching tools to help them manage their people, and individual and team performance expectations. They also found using a coaching language helped them support each other.
