lead a virtual team
A government department needed a joined-up approach to allocating a valuable and critical resource in a way that meets the growing needs of customers.
Such were the varied interests of stakeholders, only a cross-departmental virtual team would be able to deliver a consolidated approach.
To lead the virtual team effectively and efficiently a robust framework was needed. Our first objective was to establish virtual team best practice... to clarify who the team members need to be, and to support a productive future working style for the team long after our work was finished.
Key moments
Virtual team members realised they could work cohesively together.
Critical results
Virtual team best practice established a robust working style.
Using this blueprint the virtual team was established at an event designed by Jo Dale (above) to agree allocation priorities and department policy. On the day, knowledge and experience was shared; people quickly signed up to the process; objectives were agreed; worries were shared; needs were understood.
