emotional intelligence
developing self, increasing performance
TSOC see individual effectiveness as being measurable, changeable and developable. Whatever a person's role, experience, or IQ, their performance is ultimately determined by:
- Their ability to be intelligent about effective self-management; and
- Their ability to be intelligent about effective relationships with others.
These are very different intelligences to IQ (which is a measure of only a fraction of our intelligence). The collective term for these two intelligences is Emotional Intelligence.
Unlike IQ, Emotional Intelligence (EI) is developable and highly correlated with performance. Therefore, if EI is developed within a framework, this will lead to higher performance and attainment of goals.
